Characteristics of 's Gravenmoer lace
The lace is similar to Torchon but half stitch is worked on the vertical diagonal. Designs are surrounded by gimp. The lace motifs are simple geomatrical patterns inspired by local life: windmills, boats and trees.
The motifs are worked in cloth stitch or in diagonal half stitch. The ground consists of closed pin stitches, wich are also called honeycomb stitches.
